The media image of Queen Elizabeth II's death in selected Czech news websites

The thesis examines the media image of Queen Elizabeth II.'s death in two of the most visited Czech news websites. It analyzes articles published in one month's time horizon starting from the day of the Queen's death on September 8th 2022. The selected news servers are Novinky.cz as a representative of a more reputable media and Blesk.cz as a tabloid media. The thesis goes through the theoretical foundations of the problematics, briefly describes the life and circumstances of the Queen's death and explains used methodological procedures - quantitative content analysis and qualitative analysis performed using the grounded theory method. The results of both analyses then reveal what topics the selected servers focus on and serve to compare the constructed media image of the Queen's death.
Ukraine War Through the Eyes of Czech Reporters

The bachelor's thesis deals with war reporting from the war in Ukraine and its specifics through the eyes of Czech reporters who were present in the country themselves. The objective is to look at the work of journalists in this armed conflict from their viewpoint because they are the most knowledgeable on the topic and they deal with war reporting long-term and comprehensively. Based on the data obtained, the work aims to clarify what obstacles the reporters encountered during reporting and what caused them. The research - semi-structured in-depth interviews - was analyzed using the grounded theory method. In the form of interviews, the insights of six reporters who reported on the war in the period of February- August 2022 are put into context. At the end of the work, the main obstacles that journalists encountered while reporting on this war are stated, as well as the proposal of possible solutions of how they can be eliminated in the future.
Typology of participants in dating reality shows

This thesis examines the types of characters appearing on dating reality TV shows. Based on qualitative research, it tries to examine whether certain types of participants appear in this genre, if they are repeated and therefore it is possible to classify them into a certain type. The theoretical part of the work deals with emotionality in RTV, the commodification of emotions and also approaches this genre through its history and the circumstances of its creation. In the methodological part of the thesis, Zygmunt Bauman's typology of postmodern personalities is presented and is later used in the interpretation of the types that have arisen. Further, the applied research method of grounded theory is described. In the practical part of the thesis, the research itself is described, which is then related to Bauman's typology, the individual types that have arisen are described, and the concept of emodity is also taken into account when interpreting the data.
The impact of influencers on Generation Z news awareness on Social media (on the example of Covid-19 pandemic)

This bachelor's thesis examines the role of influencers on generation Z's news awareness of current events and the covid-19 pandemic. In addition, the thesis aims to understand the attitude generation Z has towards influencers spreading information on social media, especially in connection with the relevance and authenticity of this information. The main topics include social media, influencers and generation Z, which are presented in greater detail in the theoretical part. Research was carried out in a form of six semi-structured in-depth interviews with generation Z. Implementation of the interviews and data analysis followed by the grounded theory method. Results indicate that the participants still prefer traditional media sources, not only when seeking verified information. The participants are aware of the existing impact which influencers can have on information. Nonetheless, they approach influencers rather negatively, despite the fact that they drew information from at least one influencer during the covid-19 pandemic. Main limitation of the research was primarily small number and gender imbalanced selection of interviewed participants and partial decline of interest in the topic of covid-19.
Teachers as co-creators of the teaching assistant profession

Hana Pomahačová ABSTRACT This master thesis deals with teachers as co-creators of the profession of teaching assistant. This profession of teaching assistant, in our milieu, is a new profession, still not quite established. However, it is a highly important part of the inclusive education. The goal of this work is especially to contribute to a further discussion about the profession of teaching assistant. The work is based on the constructionist paradigm, the profession of a teaching assistant is dealt as a social construct profession and the teachers are seen as one of actors - co-creators of this construction, whose everyday professional lives are touched with inclusion and thus also with the work of a teaching assistant. This means, that the attention is brought especially to the way, how the profession of a teaching assistant is understood in everyday life and which kind of acting comes out of this understanding. Analysis of experience of people with bipolar disorder

The aim of the thesis is to increase the transparency and credibility of the data obtained in the diploma thesis. In the diploma thesis, the process of learning to live with bipolar disorder was mapped via grounded theory method. The original thesis has a lack of transparency of the data processing which makes the findings less valid. Another aim of this thesis is to describe the methodology of the AKTIBIPO400 clinical study which is taken part by the participants of the diploma thesis and to evaluate the possible impact of the study on the results of the diploma thesis. The theoretical part of the original thesis has been completely sustained. It discusses the historical and current approach to bipolar disorder, it's clinical course and treatment options. The empirical part of the original thesis has been modified as the data processing procedure is presented in detail. Specifically, the thesis now contains a description of a self-reflection during the data analysis, the usage of the Atlas.ti software and the individual phases of data processing (data conceptualization, data categorization and theory construction). Analysis of the experience of people with bipolar disorder

The aim of the diploma thesis is to survey characteristics in the experience of people with bipolar disorder. The choice of the topic is based on the lack of research of the experience of people suffering with bipolar disorder in the Czech environment. The aim of this thesis is to comprehend the life of people with bipolar disorder. The theoretical part of the thesis is focusing on the description of the historical and contemporary concept of bipolar disorder including the so-called bipolar spectrum. This part presents treatment options as well as comorbidities which are often a part of the clinical course of the disease. The aim of the theoretical part is to introduce the reader to the issue of bipolar disorder which allows a better understanding of the empirical part. In the empirical part, six respondents were interviewed to collect data. The grounded theory method was chosen for data processing and the Atlas.ti software was used for coding purposes. As a result of the data processing a process of learning how to live with bipolar disorder has emerged. Factors of fear. Does fear in the Reality TV genre function as an instrument of self-reflection as well as manipulation?

This thesis focuses on matters of Reality TV that share a main element - fear. The theoretical part of the thesis first introduces the genre itself, its history and classification. Secondly, the team fear is defined and analysed as a phenomenon through literature overview of the term in sociology, anthropology, philosophy and psychology. The thesis also outlines how fear was depicted in arts throughout history. The practical part of the thesis starts with a description of the methodology of the research and its design. Afterwards there are introduced Reality TV shows about fear which are subjects of the thesis, followed by analysis of their form and style. The final part of the practical part of the thesis consists of a research report revealing results acquired by qualitative survey on the basis of a grounded theory method. .
Sterotypization of a music star through a documentary

This diploma thesis focuses on matters of stereotyping of documentary portraits depicting pop music icons. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with issues such as stereotyping as part of media representation of reality, and the definition of term "celebrity" and its specifics in the context of music industry. The term "documentary portrait" is also grasped theoretically. The practical part of the thesis introduces the documentary films which were examined. The methodology of the research and its design are described as well. The final part of the thesis consists of a research report, which includes results acquired by a qualitative survey on the basis of a grounded theory method.
